Home and business loans for self-employed borrowers

Self-employed borrowers are often declined for paperwork, not income. We prove your income the way lenders accept it, using tax returns, BAS, bank statements or an accountant's declaration, and match you with lenders who understand company and trust structures.

Bank checklists are built for payslips. If you are a sole trader, ABN holder, freelancer, contractor or company director, your real income can hide inside company profits, trust distributions, depreciation and one-off expenses. Before broking, Julie spent years working with businesses in building, fresh produce and retail, so she reads financials the way a credit assessor will.

She walked us through all our options, explained the numbers clearly, and found us a great deal that let us access the equity without messing up our existing loan. FAQs

Questions answered

Can I get approved without full financials?
Yes. Many lenders Mortgage Pass works with offer low doc or alt doc loans using BAS, bank statements or an accountant's letter.
How long do I need to be self-employed?
Many lenders Mortgage Pass compares want two years; some accept one year, or less with prior experience in the same industry.
What is the difference between low doc and alt doc?
Mortgage Pass explains it this way: both use alternative evidence of income; alt doc usually means specific documents such as BAS or bank statements.
Will my add-backs count?
Often. Mortgage Pass checks which lenders count add-backs such as depreciation and one-off costs, as it depends on the lender.
Does tax minimisation affect my borrowing?
Yes. A lower taxable income can reduce borrowing power on paper, so talk to Mortgage Pass before end of financial year.
